How did Auto Haven become the car storage facility of choice for enthusiasts in Melbourne’s eastern and south eastern suburbs?

It started in 2012, I had more cars than garage space! 

This became a real problem, with few secure and affordable storage facilities available, meaning I needed to offload two cars because I couldn’t find affordable, secure undercover storage.

The trouble was, they were great cars and I thought they were worth hanging on to. The market was low and it was a tough decision to make, but in 2012, I sold them both.

The two cars were :

1. 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV Series 1, Australian delivered with books & 70,000 original miles. I was the 2nd owner. Selling price $17,000.

2. 1972 Detomaso Pantera recently imported from USA with 26,000 miles on the odometer. Excellent drive away condition in perfect order. Selling price $73,000.

Eight years later, what is the value of these cars? Looking at recent results, the Alfa sells for three times the 2012 price, while the Pantera sells for double the 2012 price.

I personally know of many other people who have similar stories- where we wish we'd kept the car we had 5/10/20 years ago- cars that now wear a much higher price tag if you can even find one with similar specs. Other cars that have slipped through my hands include an original paint 1964 Riviera, and a low milage one owner 1968 Mustang convertible
